Certificate of High School Equivalency / GED

A Texas test taker that successfully completes the four GED tests will be issued a State of Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency. A PDF containing the certificate will be emailed to the test taker’s email within three business days.

The State of Texas issues a Certificate of High School Equivalency to test takers who successfully complete all four GED® tests.

Test-Taker Eligibility

To take the high school equivalency exams in Texas, an individual must:

  • be a resident of Texas,
  • have a government-issued photo ID, and
  • be 18 years of age or older.
